Printable Bible Reading Plans for Beginners

The best way to start reading the Bible as new believers is by starting with an actual plan for doing so!

Like with most things in life, jumping in without a plan usually leads to minimal results.

There are many different ways to study the Bible but one of the easiest ways to get started is with a printable Bible reading plan.

Printable Bible reading plans give you a blueprint for what to read each day of the week and reflection questions to help you better understand and learn to apply what you’ve read.

Beginner Bible reading plans are helpful for many other reasons:

  1. Structure: The Bible is a vast collection of books, and without a plan, it can be overwhelming to know where to start or how to progress in reading it. Bible reading plans break down the Bible into manageable portions, making it easier to follow and maintain a consistent reading habit.
  2. Comprehensive Understanding: Bible reading plans typically cover a specific topic, character, or book of the Bible. By following a plan, you ensure that you engage with a diverse range of passages and gain a comprehensive understanding of the overarching message and teachings of the Bible.
  3. Accountability: Having a reading plan helps you track your progress and maintain consistency. It provides a clear roadmap, allowing you to measure how far you’ve come and how much you have left to read.
  4. Discovering New Passages: Bible reading plans often include passages you may not have chosen to read on your own. They expose you to a variety of texts, allowing you to encounter lesser-known books, wisdom literature, prophecies, and letters that you might have otherwise overlooked. This broadens your knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
  5. Discipline and Spiritual Growth: Developing a regular Bible reading habit requires discipline. By following a reading plan, you cultivate discipline that, over time, leads to spiritual growth, deepening your relationship with God, and helping you apply different biblical principles to your life.

But not all reading plans are the same!

Below you will find a variety of different types of printable Bible reading plans to help you find the one that best fits your own learning style and needs.

Chronological Bible Reading Plans for Beginners

Most new christians have no idea that the Bible isn’t written in the order in which things actually happen.

If you read the Bible from beginning to end, the stories jump around and it can be a bit confusing to understand how certain things relate to each other.

When you read the Bible in chronological order, it helps you to better understand historical context, coherence of scripture, and the insights into prophecy and fulfillment.

This is important for truly understanding the entire story of the Good News of Jesus.
